Workshops for Warriors
In 2016, The Parker Foundation supported training programs at Workshops for Warriors that made it possible for 44 Veterans and Transitioning Service members to enroll in the fall semester. Each of these Veterans receive top-notch training that prepares them for civilian careers in advanced manufacturing, a field in high demand.
In particular, one of the students from the Marine Corps served in three deployments during his military career and needed a civilian career that supported him physically while also allowing him to advance in a long term career. That student graduated earning eight nationally recognized credentials and quickly received and accepted a job offer as a CNC Mill Operator that supported his family, allowed them to purchase a home.
Thank you, Workshop for Warriors, for providing meaningful training for employment at wages that can sustain families.
